Nobody can mark attendance for a friend.
Each punch is checked three ways. It must come from a phone you have approved, it needs a fresh selfie, and the person must be at the shop or office.
That’s also why staff can’t punch in from a computer. A webcam can be pointed at a photo. The phone app is for staff; the web dashboard is for owners and managers.

Every punch needs a phone you have approved, a fresh selfie, and the person must be inside the shop or office location fence (unless you switch the fence off for field staff). The selfie is saved so you can check it.
Does it work on iPhone?
Not yet. The staff app works on Android phones (Android 7.0 or newer) and is downloaded from the Cadence website. Owners can use the web dashboard on any computer or phone.
Can staff mark attendance from a computer?
No, on purpose. Marking attendance needs the phone’s camera and location, because a computer webcam can be pointed at a photo. The web dashboard is only for owners and managers.
How is salary calculated?
From the attendance actually recorded. Leave-without-pay days are shown with their reason. You can pay by cash, UPI or bank transfer, and payslip PDFs are available on Business and Enterprise plans.
Does it handle PF, ESI or TDS?
Not yet. PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS deductions are not added to payslips today. Tally export is also coming soon.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 14 days free on the Starter and Business plans. No card is needed to start.
Can I use Cadence for more than one branch?
Yes. Each branch gets its own location fence. Many branches are included in the Business and Enterprise plans. On Starter, each extra branch is ₹499 per month.
Can staff see their own salary?
You decide. You can let staff see their salary statement in the app, or keep it visible only to owners and managers.
Do staff have to pay anything?
No. Staff never pay. The business pays one monthly plan.
